Gutters over stairwells in particular require special attention this time of year. During these storms it is not uncommon to have 2-3" of rainfall in less then 1 hour, so that when clean gutters and clear downspouts are critical. Perhaps consider oversize gutters and spouts for the larger roof sections of your home or the areas where a lot of water is forced into smaller collecting points on lower roofs.
